Overview
The Public Service Medal recognises outstanding service by members of the Australian Government including state, territory, and local governments.
The Public Service Medal is part of the official Australian Honours system. It is open to officers of any level across the ACT Public Service who embody the ACT Public Service signature values and behaviours and who have made a lasting contribution through their work.
The PSM honours officers who have completed their jobs to the highest standards and have shown outstanding service though:
- service excellence to the public, or to external or internal clients;
- innovation in program, project or policy development;
- leadership, including as a member of a team; or
- the achievement of more efficient processes, improved productivity or better service delivery.
Nominations are now open
Nominations will close Friday 19 July 2024.
Who you can nominate
You can nominate any ACT Public Service employee who has shown outstanding service. The PSM is open to officers of any level across government.
The PSM may only be awarded to each recipient once.

How to nominate
- Complete the Nomination Form (DOCX 366KB).
- Include at least three signed referee statements.
- Seek endorsement through your relevant Director-General.
- Submit your nomination to: honoursandawards@act.gov.au
