The ACTPS RED Framework supports positive, respectful, supportive and fair work environments.

We strive to be a workforce that is as diverse and progressive as our ACT community.

We recognise and value the heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and people who can bring that insight and lived experience to our Service.

We welcome people with disability and with experience of disability, those who identify as LGBTIQ+, carers, and older and younger people.

We encourage people who have non-English-speaking life experience, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and recent migrants to Australia to join the ACT Public Service.

Our Employment Programs seek to build the diversity of the ACT Public Service and provide genuine employment opportunities within our organisations.

Veterans’ Employment

The ACT Government launched its Veterans’ Employment Strategy in September 2017. The Government supports the transition of Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel into civilian life and recognises that their skills and experience are a valuable asset to the ACT community. The Government’s vision is to make the ACT Public Service (ACTPS) a leader in the recruitment and retention of veterans.
